Hey, I’m Melanie.
I’m a people person on a mission to help as many people as possible live their best lives by finding the right professional paths through research and relationships.
A Brief Bio
I have 8+ years working in human-centric environments with a focus on strategy, branding, and user experience.
In addition to my career history, I have an unusual zest for life, am consistently on the search for how to be a better human being, have studied and worked across various fields and industries, and generally love to get to know new people and new experiences.

My Unique Advantage for Corporate Recruiting
Deep Business Understanding
My background in brand strategy taught me how to understand both the external market and internal business goals, a skill that translates directly into aligning hiring with company strategy.
Strong Stakeholder Management
Having worked across multiple industries and functions, I know how to build credibility quickly, adapt my communication style, and balance competing priorities, exactly what’s required when partnering with hiring managers and HR leaders.
Candidate Experience at Scale
My UX research and design experience honed my ability to deeply understand people’s needs and motivations. This ensures I approach candidates not just as applicants, but as humans, creating a positive experience that reflects well on the employer’s brand.
Process Excellence
Managing customer-centric programs and projects gave me the organizational discipline to follow structured processes while still staying flexible and solution-oriented when challenges arise.
Resilience & Adaptability
Having lived in different countries and worked across varied fields, I’m comfortable navigating ambiguity, change, and complexity which are qualities essential in the ever-shifting landscape of corporate recruiting.

But Wait…You’ve Never Worked in Recruiting?
Yes, that’s true! But in my journey to find the right job that aligns with current and future goals, I’ve discovered recruiting as the perfect fit.
It hits that sweet spot of working in a people-centric environment where I can apply my prior work experience and natural talent to help people live better lives while also being in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, challenged by exterior KPIs.
And yes, I’m at the point in my life where I’m looking for an industry where I can be for the long haul.
I thought it would be the entrepreneurial life for me but after going all out with it the last 1.5 years, I’ve discovered that it is not for me at this time…to lonely a path for this extravert.
Recruitment is the perfect blend of working with business needs and also helping people find their spot in the working world…all the best parts of what I’ve loved doing in the past combined!
How user research best practices can serve the recruitment process
Both fields are about understanding people, uncovering needs, and designing experiences that feel meaningful, efficient, and aligned. Bringing user research best practices into recruitment doesn’t just improve processes, it makes the candidate experience human, thoughtful, and even enjoyable.
My Thoughts on Recruitment
Human skills in the age of AI: why soft skills are more valuable than ever
In the age of AI, human skills are not just complementary—they are essential. As machines take over routine tasks, the uniquely human abilities of empathy, adaptability, critical thinking, communication, and ethical judgment become the differentiators that drive success.
What If We Focused More on the Natural Personality and Skills of Hires?
When employees are in roles that fit who they are and what they do best, they work happier, stay longer, and contribute more. In the long run, prioritizing personality and strengths isn’t just better for people, it’s better for business.
Kind Words from People I’ve Worked With
"From the first day that I met Melanie, I knew that this is a person who is incredibly smart, has so much presence in a room, and always wants to get better at the thing.
She is both confident in the ways she is talented and also humble and aware of her limitations. It’s hard to be the perfect mean between humble and confident.
This is a powerful combination."
ZP, Former boss
"“Before working with her, I had a million ideas but no clear direction. From our very first call, I felt heard and supported.
Melanie helped me take what was on my heart and shape it into something actionable and inspiring.
Her insight gave me the clarity and confidence I needed to move forward with purpose.”"
